Our Group’s Clinics Leading in Cataract Treatment

Our group’s clinics are at the forefront of cataract treatment. At Miranza, we apply the latest techniques to provide the greatest comfort to the patient.

Cataracts are a very common disorder, and many patients who come to Miranza clinics suffer from them. It is a particularly common eye disease among the elderly, as more than 60% of people over the age of 70 suffer from it, and, although it has a solution, it is still the main cause of blindness in developing countries.

Cataracts are caused by a loss of transparency of the lens, a structure that allows light rays to get into the eye and diverts them so that they converge on the retina and, in this way, we can focus our eyes and see clearly.

At Miranza clinics, we have specialist ophthalmologists and the most advanced means to remove cataracts effectively and safely, hence allowing our patients to maintain good vision, despite the wear and tear associated with age.

Clinics at the Forefront of Cataract Treatment

The only solution for cataracts is surgery. Cataract surgery is a very precise surgery with a high success rate, thanks to which you will be able to regain good visual quality in no time. The results are highly satisfying, allowing you to enjoy greater eye wellness and thus be able to carry out many daily activities with ease and comfort.

Before performing cataract surgery, it is important that your ophthalmologist advises you on the right time to operate. At Miranza clinics, our specialists are professionals with extensive experience, some of them pioneers of modern cataract surgery techniques in Spain, who will be able to tell you when it is better not to wait any longer to tackle this issue. They will carry out a comprehensive study and personally assess your case.

Cataract surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in ophthalmology and at Miranza we are constantly innovating to offer the most comfortable surgery and the best results to our patients. With this objective in mind, at our clinics we apply the least invasive techniques and perform phacoemulsification – the most widespread procedure in cataract surgery at present –, using the latest technologies, such as new lasers. Thus, we can fragment and aspirate the cataract in the most efficient way, extracting it through a microincision and introducing the intraocular lens that will act as the lens.

This intraocular lens can be of various types, whereas the Premium models we currently work with at our centres offer more possibilities to see well, either at a distance or up close, without depending so much on glasses after surgery.

What is the Recovery from Cataract Surgery Like?

The first thing you should know is that cataract surgery is a procedure that has been greatly improved, that does not require general anesthesia and that we can perform very quickly in the clinic, so it usually takes no more than 20 minutes per eye. As it is an outpatient procedure, you will be able to return home the same day and you will soon begin to notice improvement in your vision, usually within the first 24 hours. However, for a complete recovery and to avoid complications, you must follow the guidelines set by your ophthalmologist, such as complying with postoperative treatment and follow-up visits.

If you still have questions about how we treat cataracts at Miranza clinics, you can contact us to request all the information you need. Make an appointment, and we will give you the appropriate advice.
