Miranza Santander has just begun a new chapter with an opening event held on Friday. The event
was led by Gema Igual Ortiz, Mayor of Santander, and attended by Zulema Gancedo González,
Santander’s Councillor for Social Services, Family, Health, Personal Autonomy and Equality; Luis
Carretero
, Managing Director of the Cantabrian Health Service; as well as Javier López Estrada,
Mayor of Torrelavega. Other notable attendees included figures from the medical, social, and
business sectors of the city.

Ramón Berra de Unamuno, CEO of Miranza, and Dr. Ramón Bárcena, founder and medical director
of the center (formerly Invista), introduced the Group’s project on the Cantabrian coast and
showcased the new ophthalmology facilities, which had previously been known as Invista — a
reference in Cantabria for its commitment to visual health over the past decade.

The new ophthalmology clinic in Santander is located in a landmark building in the city center and
spans a total of 640 square meters, housing spacious and modern facilities with 14 consultation
rooms and two operating theatres. It offers comprehensive care across all ophthalmological
subspecialties.

Its specialized units address conditions such as cataracts, oculoplastics, refractive surgery,
glaucoma, and retina and vitreous diseases. The clinic stands out for its use of cutting-edge
technology, including PSLT laser treatment for open-angle glaucoma. Additionally, it is the only
center in Cantabria equipped with CO2 laser technology for advanced eyelid treatments and
non-surgical facial rejuvenation, as well as the only accredited center in the region for ICL lens
implantation (Implantable Collamer Lenses)

The Santander clinic team consists of six ophthalmologists, three optometrists, and three
anesthesiologists

Ramón Berra, CEO of Miranza, emphasized: “With this addition, we reinforce our commitment to
providing excellent ophthalmology care in the north of the country. Miranza Santander allows us to
keep growing a network that combines medical talent, cutting-edge technology, and a
patient-centered care model.”

Dr. Ramón Bárcena, Medical Director of Miranza Santander, added: “Joining Miranza is a strategic
step that enhances our ability to offer patients in Cantabria even more advanced and effective
ophthalmic care
. Becoming part of the Group opens the door to a first-class medical collaboration
network, while preserving the closeness and human touch that have always defined our way of
working.”

With this addition, Miranza strengthens its leadership in the ophthalmology field in Spain and
continues its expansion strategy in Northern Spain, where it now operates six centers located in
Bilbao, San Sebastián, Vitoria, Santiago de Compostela, and now Santander. This makes it the
Group’s second most prominent geographical area, behind only Andalusia.
