Dr Jaime Aramberri, one of our professionals at Clínica Miranza Begitek in San Sebastián, has implanted the first Synergy Toric intraocular lens in Spain. This state-of-the-art intraocular lens is able to correct any refractive error, myopia, hyperopia or associated presbyopia in patients over 50 years of age.

Comfortable vision at different distances

The lens benefits from technology known as continuous focus, which allows focused vision from a short distance (40 cm) suitable for reading to infinity. This allows users to change easily from reading up close to viewing a computer screen at an intermediate distance, without the jarring sensation that may be experienced with other designs of trifocal intraocular lenses. Its toric design also allows correction of astigmatism in half of the recorded cases, making it easier to have good eyesight without the need for glasses.

The lens is recommended for patients who wish to eliminate their dependence on glasses and for those who must undergo cataract surgery

Pioneers in implantation of intraocular lenses

The implantation of intraocular lenses is a field of ophthalmology that has surged in recent years, and we at Miranza strive to be at the forefront of the latest developments. In addition to pioneering the use of the Synergy Toric multifocal lens, our specialists have taken part in the study and development of other new models such as Viva and Vivity, which reflect the perfection of extended-focus technology.

The challenge lies in uniting technical innovation and ophthalmological experience to offer each patient the intraocular lens that best suits his or her specific vision needs. This approach makes our refractive surgery an increasingly personalised experience.
