Ramón Berra con fundadores COI

The expansion we initiated in 2021 continues with the February addition to the group of a new clinic in Bilbao: the Centro Oftalmológico Integral (COI). This is the third Miranza clinic in the Basque Country, along with the offices of Miranza Begitek in Donostia-San Sebastián and Miranza Ókular in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

With this addition of the prestigious COI centre (renamed Miranza COI), we seek to offer eye care based on excellence to a greater number of patients in the Basque Country. This autonomous community now has the greatest number of Miranza clinics, along with Madrid, where three of the group’s centres are located.

General Manager Ramón Berra says, “We began the year with the incorporation of another clinic that will allow us to make further progress towards a project that is growing in size and scope with the involvement, prestige and talent of our medical staff—comprised of 80% of Spain’s top ophthalmic professionals—and of all the professionals who are part of this project and who are also part of the new Miranza clinic in Bilbao”.

The sustained growth of our ophthalmic network reflects Miranza’s strength as a leading group dedicated to eye health and well-being, with 16 clinics and 12 consultation centres, all acclaimed in their respective locations.

COI: new Miranza clinic in the Basque Country

Miranza COI has been in operation for nearly 30 years and was founded by the centre’s medical director Dr José Antonio López Garrido and Dr Javier Orbegozo. The staff are comprised of a team of 10 ophthalmologists and 20 professionals, including optometrists, nurses, auxiliary nurses and administrative personnel. COI provides coverage of different ophthalmological subspecialties. The clinic stands out for its installations, the prestige of its doctors who treat different eye disorders, its focus on ongoing training and the personalised attention received by its patients. These values are the bedrock of Miranza’s approach to eye care.
