Miranza strengthens its presence in Cantabria with a new clinic in Torrelavega
We are pleased to announce the integration of Clínica Bedia into the Group. This center, located in the province of Santander, has more than 20 years of experience providing comprehensive eye care.
In this way, we continue to consolidate our territorial expansion strategy in high-value healthcare areas, with a second clinic in Cantabria, just a few months after the incorporation of Miranza Santander.
Clínica Bedia has stood out in Cantabria for its comprehensive eye care, combining general ophthalmology, optometry, minor eye surgery, cataract treatments, and refractive surgery, among other services.
By joining Miranza, the Torrelavega clinic will be able to enhance its clinical and technological development by incorporating new diagnostic and surgical techniques and benefiting from the operational synergies and quality standards of the group. The center will maintain its professional identity, clinical team, and local care, while progressively integrating into the care model that characterizes the Miranza network.
For Miranza’s CEO, Ramón Berra, “we are advancing our expansion strategy in Cantabria with the opening of a new Miranza clinic, bringing ophthalmological excellence to more patients in the region and consolidating our reference network in Spain.” With this integration, “Clínica Bedia will be able to enhance care standards while keeping patient well-being as a priority”, Berra adds.
Meanwhile, Dr. Emilio Bedia emphasizes that “being part of Miranza allows us to work in a network with most of the leading ophthalmology specialists in Spain, enhance our technical capabilities, incorporate new diagnostic and surgical technologies, and strengthen our care protocols, always maintaining our identity and the personalized attention that distinguishes us in Torrelavega”.
Other recent operations
In recent months, we have significantly reinforced our growth and internationalization strategy through various acquisitions. During 2025, in addition to Santander, Miranza expanded its footprint in Catalonia with the integration of IOCAT, adding centers in Mataró and El Prat de Llobregat.
Outside of Spain, we also strengthened our presence in Portugal last year with the acquisition of Oftalmocenter in Guimarães, which becomes the second clinic in the country after Miranza Coantas in Porto. These operations add to other incorporations, such as Clínica El Brillante in Córdoba, consolidating Miranza’s sustainable growth strategy
