Miranza takes a decisive step in its international expansion with its entry into Portugal through the integration of the prestigious Clínica Oftalmológica das Antas (Coantas), located in the city of Porto. With this acquisition, we strengthen our Group’s presence in the Iberian Peninsula.

The selection of Coantas, founded and led by Professor Manuel Monteiro Pereira—one of Portugal’s most renowned ophthalmologists—reflects our goal of incorporating centers with a strong medical track record and a firm commitment to patient care. With over 40 years of experience, the medical director of Miranza’s new clinic in Portugal is a pioneer in ophthalmology in the country, known for his early adoption of surgical techniques such as phacoemulsification. In addition, he has developed and patented innovative intraocular lenses and has performed more than 28,000 eye surgeries. He currently combines his clinical practice with academic and scientific work.

Ramón Berra and Ricardo Mateos, CEO and CFO of Miranza, respectively, accompanied by Arantxa Herrera and Dr. Federico Alonso Aliste, manager and medical director of Tecnolaser, as well as Jonas Morais, regional director of our Group in Andalusia.

Addition of a third clinic in Seville

In addition to expanding internationally, we continue to grow within Spain with the incorporation of a third clinic in Seville: Tecnolaser Clinic Vision. This center joins our existing clinics in Andalusia, bringing the total number of centers in the region to nine.

With over 20 years of experience, Tecnolaser has established itself as a leader in laser surgery and advanced treatments for eye conditions, under the leadership of Dr. Federico Alonso Aliste, who is recognized for his clinical, research, and teaching background.
