For the past five years, at Miranza we have been seeking answers to this and other questions through the Bar\u00f3metro de Bienestar Ocular, a study launched to take the pulse of the eye health of the Spanish population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That first study, conducted in 2021, marked the starting point for a project that, edition after edition, has built an increasingly comprehensive picture of our relationship with vision. Since then, the Barometer has brought different data and trends to light, allowing us to observe how Spaniards\u2019 perceptions of their eye health are evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next October, we will present the <\/strong>VI <\/strong>Bar\u00f3metro<\/strong> de <\/strong>Bienestar<\/strong> Ocular<\/strong> in Madrid<\/strong>, a new edition that will update this snapshot of the eye health of the Spanish population and allow us to see what has happened since 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since its second edition, the Barometer has included an Eye Wellness Index, scored out of 10, which makes it possible to compare results from one year to the next. To date, the results have shown remarkable stability: 5.24 in 2022; 5.22 in 2023; 5.20 in 2024; and 5.23 in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Four editions, four very similar scores and the same underlying question: what will we find in the sixth? We have also seen certain vision problems gain prominence over the years. Myopia<\/a>, for example, ranked first among the vision problems reported by respondents in 2024, at 37%, ahead of astigmatism<\/a> and presbyopia<\/a>. In 2025, it once again took the top spot, maintaining the same percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But the Barometer does more than put figures to vision problems.
