{"id":211573,"date":"2024-12-18T13:40:36","date_gmt":"2024-12-18T12:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/miranza.es\/uncategorized\/fundacion-miranza-revisiones-oculares-a-personas-usuarias-de-cruz-roja-para-promover-la-integracion-social\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T14:06:07","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T12:06:07","slug":"miranza-foundation-eye-examinations-for-red-cross-users-to-promote-social-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/news\/miranza-foundation-eye-examinations-for-red-cross-users-to-promote-social-integration\/","title":{"rendered":"Miranza Foundation: eye examinations for Red Cross users to promote social integration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Miranza Foundation network of collaborators continues to grow with the signing of new agreements with organisations such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cruzroja.es\/\"><u>Red Cross<\/u><\/a>, a joint effort that enables us to expand the mission of raising awareness, prevention and maintenance in terms of people\u2019s eye health, particularly in more vulnerable groups of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of this agreement, which started with a prevention campaign along with Red Cross Alicante, the team from our <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-eye-clinics\/vissum-alicante-grupo-miranza\/\"><u>Vissum<\/u><u> Grupo <\/u><u>Miranza<\/u><\/a> clinic, volunteers from the Miranza Foundation, offered free eye check-ups to immigrants from Ukraine and from different African and Latin American countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of thirty eye examinations were performed, detecting problems that had not yet been diagnosed and that, therefore, were harming the eyesight and quality of life of those examined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This often involved refractive errors that could be corrected by wearing glasses, which were also provided by the Miranza Foundation for the 14&nbsp;people in need, thanks to the support of \u00d3ptica&nbsp;Universitaria and the Etnia Barcelona Foundation. However, other eye disorders were also detected during the campaign, such as 6&nbsp;cases of cataracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-team\/ophthalmological-specialists\/pedro-amat-en\/\"><u>Dr Pedro Amat<\/u><\/a>, specialist at <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-eye-clinics\/vissum-alicante-grupo-miranza\/\">Vissum Grupo Miranza<\/a>, participant in the campaign, this highlights the importance of \u201creaching those groups that do not have access to regular ophthalmological examinations, ensuring everyone, regardless of their social or financial situation, has access to quality eye health services\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Miranza Foundation network of collaborators continues to grow with the signing of new agreements with organisations such as the Red Cross, a joint effort that enables us to expand the mission of raising awareness, prevention and maintenance in terms of people\u2019s eye health, particularly in more vulnerable groups of people.
