This summer, after a two-year hiatus as a result of the pandemic, the situation has made it possible to resume ophthalmological check-ups under the guidance of <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/nuestro-equipo\/especialistas-oftalmologicos\/kyriaki-souki\/\"><strong>Dra. Kyriaki Souki<\/strong><\/a>, a specialist in paediatric ophthalmology at Miranza IBO, who has seen around 20\u00a0children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>These are children between 10 and 12\u00a0years old who are being taken in by families in Palma during the summer <\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ophthalmologist, &#8220;the aim of this initiative is to provide this group of children with decent access to eye health and to identify possible conditions in order to treat them or prevent complications.&#8221; Therefore, those children who, as a result of the check-ups, require treatment to correct a <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/patologias\/defectos-refractivos-en-ninos\/\">refractive error<\/a>, will also get free glasses, thanks to the agreement that Miranza IBO has reached with <strong>Opticalia Lux<\/strong> in Palma to provide the prescription lenses and frames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/revisiones-oftalmologicas-a-ninos-saharauis-1.jpg\" alt=\"revisiones oftalmol\u00f3gicas a ninos saharauis\" class=\"wp-image-50725\" srcset=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/revisiones-oftalmologicas-a-ninos-saharauis-1.jpg 960w, https:\/\/miranza.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/revisiones-oftalmologicas-a-ninos-saharauis-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/miranza.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/revisiones-oftalmologicas-a-ninos-saharauis-1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Holidays in Peace<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sahara Ponent\u2019s <strong>Holidays in Peace<\/strong> Project provides summer care for Saharawi children who during the school year live with their families in refugee camps near the Algerian city of Tindouf, one of the most bleak areas of the Sahara desert.
