{"id":115385,"date":"2023-10-30T11:14:36","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T10:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/miranza.es\/?p=115385"},"modified":"2025-07-02T14:09:51","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T12:09:51","slug":"miranza-collaborates-with-abre-sus-ojos-to-offer-eye-care-to-people-with-functional-disabilities-and-at-risk-of-social-exclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/news\/miranza-collaborates-with-abre-sus-ojos-to-offer-eye-care-to-people-with-functional-disabilities-and-at-risk-of-social-exclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Miranza collaborates with Abre sus Ojos to offer eye care to people with functional disabilities and at risk of social exclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Miranza and the association Abre sus Ojos have jointly provided eye check-ups for <strong>over 600 people from Mental Disability and Illness Care Centres, Charity and Social Intervention Associations, and Child Protection Associations in Euskadi.<\/strong> The check-ups took place at <a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-eye-clinics\/miranza-clinica-begona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Miranza Cl\u00ednica Bego\u00f1a<\/strong> <\/a>(Bilbao), over two days, 27th and 28th October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, <strong>over 80 professionals (optometrists, ophthalmologists, chemists and volunteers) from throughout Spain went to the clinic in Bilbao to provide the check-ups<\/strong>, which included eyesight tests, visual and auditive health tests, and ocular hygiene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cVen y ver\u00e1s\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative is part of the \u201cVen y Ver\u00e1s\u201d (Come and See) project provided every year by \u201cAbre sus Ojos\u201d, a non-profit organisation that strives to prevent and detect eyesight problems in a vulnerable collective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to<a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-team\/ophthalmological-specialists\/itxaso-herrera\/\"> <\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miranza.es\/en\/our-team\/ophthalmological-specialists\/itxaso-herrera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dra. Itxaso Herrera<\/a><\/strong>, a specialist at Miranza Cl\u00ednica Bego\u00f1a and member of Abre sus Ojos, \u201c<strong>the goal of this charity activity is to improve eye healthcare habits and detect any visual impairments<\/strong>\u201d.&nbsp; Along these lines, the ophthalmologist explains that \u201cthere are many ocular diseases without any clear symptoms at first.
